Purpose: To improve local capacity for reporting and analyzing participation and performance data
  of students with significant cognitive disabilities on alternate assessments based on
  alternate academic achievement standards(AA-AAS) to inform critical changes in
  assessment, curriculum, and instruction.(Project Overall Outcome)
   
Outcomes: As a result of the Regional Assessment Institute #1, Jurisdiction
  Implementation Teams will:
   
  Have a greater understanding of the current knowledge, research, and best
  practices in the development and implementation of an AA-AAS.
   
  Have a greater understanding of the technical qualities for an AA-AAS.
   
  Have provided input to the design of training modules for IEP teams to
  determine which students should be assessed using an AA-AAS.
  Have an individualized entity-specific assessment structure for the
  implementation of an AA-AAS.
   
  Have 2007-2008 progress data for reporting participation and performance
  data of students with significant cognitive disabilities who participated
  in the AA-AAS in Spring 2008.
